School Education System

 Equality may be a term largely thrown around in political discourse. However, it's a perfect that's largely out of reach, particularly within the United States’ education system.

Attending public school through 12th grade in underserved areas of my city allowed me to ascertain educational inequity firsthand. From being required to get my very own textbooks to tutoring ESL students at my highschool , I became aware of how access to educational materials determines one’s school success. My education journey allowed me to ascertain how educational inequality contributes to social and income inequality, thus creating a poverty cycle.

The us has allowed schools to possess an unequal distribution of educational resources for much too long. Although I consider myself privileged when it involves my history with public education, I personally saw the struggle among my classmates. a number of my classmates didn't have internet reception to finish research for sophistication , the bulk were on free and reduced lunch, and a few were even homeless. Although my highschool offered the International Baccalaureate program, only 21/420 students in my class were enrolled within the program. Younger grades have had fewer and fewer students enrolled within the program, and therefore the district is struggling to continue funding it. When senior year came over and that i began to review for my exams, I had to get my very own IB textbook if I wanted to review reception . Although classes were free, exams cost on the brink of $1000. A free, advanced, international education is true ahead of students’ faces but they can't afford to participate in it.
